WOW air announced today that they will have service to Israel’s Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport beginning September 12, 2017.
Located on the country’s Mediterranean coastline, Tel Aviv is a bustling city offering great beaches, exciting nightlife and important museums, as well as, being the technological and cultural hub for the region.
“Visitors from all over the world continue to be attracted to the unique city of Tel Aviv and we are honored to have the opportunity to offer travel from the United States in a more efficient way with the best possible prices,” said Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of WOW air. “The Israeli government and tourism board have been great partners in getting the route approved and we are thankful for their support of WOW air.”
WOW air will start out offering one of the cheapest options for travel from North America to Israel four times a week.
“We set a goal to bring new airlines to Israel, so I’m happy and congratulate WOW air, known for its long-haul low-cost flights, on its entry into Israel in cooperation with the Israeli tourism ministry, says Yariv Levin, Israel Minister of Tourism. “I’m confident the launching of this new historic route will significantly increase the number of tourists traveling to Israel from Iceland, Canada and the US, and will also contribute to the unprecedented trend of growth in the number of tourists visiting Israel over the last number of months.”
Flights from the east and west coasts will include connections in Reykjavik that will be approximately 13 and 2 hours, respectively. The length of the layover will be subject to change for the winter season flights.
